I need advice! I ovulated and didn't know?

Ok here's the short version. My doctor had me take a blood test on cd 21 to see if I was ovulating or not. Showed I wasn't so he called me in prometrium yesterday and I started taking it last night (to induce my period). The other day I noticed I was very crampy and had a lot of discharge and thought I might be ovulating but I've never experienced ovulation on my own so I didn't know if I was or not. My husband and had sex the two nights that I noticed the discharge and cramps. I have been taking my temperature on Fertilityfriend.com and this morning when I took my temp it went up and I got my confirmation that I am 3 days past ovulation. We had sex the day before and of ovulation which is perfect. Should i call my doctor and tell him what's going on? He didn't want me to do the temperature thing anymore, and I am supposed to be taking clomid (days 3-7) once I get my period so I can do an IUI. I don't want to finish the meds and I could have been pregnant, but I don't want my doc to not give me the clomid if I tell him whats going on because I normally don't ovulate on my own. I'm stuck I need some advice please!!!
