I took Vitex for 3 months then stopped. Now no period?

I have short cycles- 14- 18 days long on average. I started taking 1000mg of vitex 3 months ago. It worked somewhat. Made my cycles go to round 23 days long. Well I stopped taking it two weeks ago because I went to a fertility specialst since I have been unable to get pregnant after 17 months of trying. I have PCOS and my hormones are all out of whack so even though I have my period twice a month I NEVER ovulate. Well even though vitex lengthened my cycle it didn't help me ovulate. So my specialist to me to stop taking all supplements and that I will just start around of clomid with an IUI then next time my period starts. Well now I am on CD 25 and still no period. So frustrating! The ONE time I have a longer lenthed cycle in my life and I dont want it! Well so my question is would stopping Vitex cause me to not have my period? Its so strange to not have it since I alway seem to be on it more often than not. Anyway to naturally induce it?
