Why do conservatives always make it sound like they are shouldering the country's taxes themselves?

Their non-stop whining would make you think they were paying 15% of their salary in taxes. And why do they always forget that free and reduced lunches for schools, road repairs, hospital bills, fire and police departments, etc. are not free?
