Having a family with out a husband or father figure?

Hey. I am 25 and I have totally given up on ever getting married (I am not a lesbian). I really want a big family though, about 8 children. I am thinking about iui treatments. I am in a really good financial position, and emotionally I have wanted to have children since I was 10. I am scared that all my friends and family will judge me. Also what happens durring a iui treatment?
